An Argument Essay Sample - Does the AP Language and Composition Exam Have an Easy Answer?The Ap Language and Composition exam are one of the most popular exams that students take in their lifetime. Even though there are thousands of words and grammar rules, the exam is still very easy for most people to answer because of its structure. The Ap Language and Composition Exam consist of four sections, which test an individual's writing skills, English grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.It is important to first remember that each section of the AP Language and Composition exam is divided into three categories: Analytical writing, Calculus and Trigonometry, and Logical Reasoning. Each category has its own level of difficulty. Many students know that they are required to write a certain number of words per paragraph, but may not know how to find out exactly how many words they need.The first category, Analysis, tests the ability to identify a single meaning of a word or phrase and to us e it as a starting point for a sentence. There are many difficult Analytical Writing questions on the AP Language and Composition exam. The section starts with a question asking students to define the word 'phone' and then to write a sentence with that definition in it. If the student has successfully written a sentence using the word, then he or she will move on to the second section, Calculus and Trigonometry. Students must understand that they do not have to solve for variables; the only question on this section is 'do you know how to calculate angles?'The third section, Logical Reasoning, requires students to identify the rules of logic and compare them to different examples. The two rules on this section are:'... and it cannot be.' and 'there are no empty statements.' Students must also understand that the sentence structure is not always the same between genders. For example, one of the main topics of the AP Language and Composition exam is how to use gender and tone when writ ing about gender. For Logical Reasoning, the students must also answer questions like 'what is logical?' and 'how do I do this logical exercise?' Some questions on the Logical Reasoning exam include: 'What is a statement of fact?' and 'when does it make sense to use an argument from authority?'One of the most challenging sections of the AP Language and Composition exam is the Calculus and Trigonometry exam. The sections are not too difficult if the student has a basic understanding of algebra and trigonometry. The course works by asking students to compare and contrast two sets of mathematical figures: the height of a mountain or the length of a rope. Students must then use the relationship between the two sets to solve the problem, 'what is the slope of a mountain?'The last section, Logical Reasoning, requires students to answer a series of statements: 'what are the reasons for using a logic fallacy?' and 'why do we use a fallacy?' In fact, a student who has successfully completed the Logical Reasoning portion of the AP Language and Composition exam can confidently write a paper about anything related to logic or reasoning. This is the final exam in the curriculum, and many students worry that the time spent on this portion of the exam is wasted.If the AP Language and Composition exam are your goal, there are four different AP courses that can help you prepare for the exam. These courses are a supplement to the standard AP classes but do not offer the same extensive instruction.
